Richard B. Cheney a notable public servant and entrepreneur is vice-president of the United States. Cheney is a well-known figure in the Washington political scene and has been under various U.S. presidents George W. Bush and George H.W. Bush. He will serve as the fourth vice president, and is an elected representative. Bush selected Cheney on July 20, 2000 as his vice-presidential running mate being impressed by Cheney's intelligence and judgement. Dick Cheney was a chief of staff for presidents. He was a member of the United States Congress as Secretary of Defense, and served the country in a variety of roles. Both Republicans as well as Democrats respect him for his honesty. Cheney believes that his job in the Bush Administration will be to serve as an open and discrete adviser. Cheney was the first to accept the Republican vice-presidential election in 2007, stated that the he would be looking forward to working under a president who is able to work across party lines and cooperate with political adversaries through goodwill and a shared objective. Richard Bruce Cheney (born January 30 1941) was the son of Richard Herbert Cheney. His mother, Marjorie Lauraine Dickey had been married to Richard Herbert Cheney for over 30 years. When he was 13 years old Richard and his family moved out of Nebraska and moved to Casper where his dad was the head of Casper's U.S. Department of Agriculture local district for soil conservation.
